Funeral services for Walter Machinsky, 83, of New Ulm were held Thursday, April 9 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry. Burial was in the New Ulm Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Bucek officiated. He was born on March 21, 1915, the son of the late Roman and Francis (Jasek) Machinsky. He married Helen Moeller on Nov. 20, 1934. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry. Survivors inclue his wife, Helen Machinsky, 87, of New Ulm; three daughters and sons-in-law, Earline and Johnny Kopecky of Brazoria, Evelyn and Robert Janish of Bellville and Waldine and Charles Wendt of Sealy; a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Annie Mae Machinsky of New Ulm; five sisters, Millie Luedcke of Brenham, Ester Heinsohn and Gladys Moeller, both of Houston, Bernice Merkel of Aransas Pass and Erna Corley of Beaumont; three brothers, John Machinsky of Bellville and Albert and Eddie Machinsky, both of Columbus; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bertha Ashorn. Henneke Funeral Home, Inc. of Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
