Funeral services were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Gordon Lindley officiating the service.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Cory Machost, Joel Machost, Eddie Jenkins, Justin Machost, and Taylor Machost, and nephews Steven Doebbler and Vincent Doebbler.

His parents and his brother, Alton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Emily; children Larry Machost and wife Sue, Jo Ann Hosek, Diane Jenkins and husband Earl, Norris Machost Jr. and wife Linda, all of Floresville; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Doebbler of Meridian, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
