Bruce Carol Machu, age 50 of Austin, died Monday, August 21, 2000. He was born in Austin and after graduating from Travis High School in 1968, he began working for the Austin Police Department. For the last 30 years he had been employed by the U. S. Postal Service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Emil Machu. Survivors include his wife, Stacey, of Austin, daughter, Monica Spaulding and husband, Travis; granddaughter, Haley Nicole Spaulding, all of Spicewood; mother, Gwen Watkins, of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado; stepsister, Rhonda Moore; aunts and uncles, Emily Bert Griggs and Lily Mae and Sam Warmuth, all of Austin, and numerous cousins. Mr. Machu will lie in state from 10:00and to 5:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services are 11:00am Friday, at Amey Funeral Home with Paster Alvin Epperson officiating. Burial will follow at Capital Memorial Park. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Services are under the direction of Amey Funeral Home, 7811 Rockwood Lane, two blocks east of MoPac, one block south of Anderson Lane, 452-4001.
