Edward J. Machu was born April 21, 1909 at Taylor, Texas, the son of Mr. Joe F. Machu and his wife Frances. On November 20, 1935, he was married at Granger, Texas to Miss Cora Clara Lange. They made their home at Taylor for the first four years of their marriage and then moved to San Antonio. Mr. Machu and his wife lived in San Antonio for 35 years and reared their children here. For the first few years he was a farmer, then a cabinet worker, but soon found employment at the San Antonio International Airport. He retired from Gen-Aero last April after 26 years of service. Mr. Machu was a devoted family man who loved to have his family around him. He was a conscientious provider and a hard worker, dedicated to his job. He taught responsibility to his children and stove to instill a wholesome sense of pride in them with the philosophy:"It is not what you have, but what you are." He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora C. Machu, by two daughters, Mrs. Bernice M. Holmes and Mrs. Lucille C. Bailey, by a son Mr. Edward J. Machu,Jr., by a brother, Mr. Alvin A. Machu, by a sister, Mrs. Adella F. Lange, by three granchildren, Debroah Susan Holmes, Mark Edward Holmes and Carrie Lynn Bailey, all of Antonio. He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
