Joe F. Machu of San Antonio died en route to a San Antonio hospital Thursday at the age of 87.

Born in Granger, December 18, 1885. Machu was a retired farmer of the Taylor area but had lived in San Antonio for the past 33 years. He was a member of Shepherd King Lutheran Church in San Antonio.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Adella Lange of San Antonio, two sons, Edward J. Machu and Alvin A. Machu, both of San Antonio, a sister, Mrs. Albert(Albina) Spacil of Taylor; four brother, John, Raymond, & Ed Machu of Taylor and Emil Machu of Austin; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral serviced are set for 4 pm Saturday from Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor with the Rev. Marvin Huth of San Antonio officiating. Burial will be in Taylor City Cemetery.
