Lillian Macicek, 92, of West passed away Tuesday morning January 29, 2002 at West Rest haven. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Macicek was born May 24, 1909 in Tokio, Texas to Joe and Frances Gerik. She attended school in Tokio and married John Macicek on October 29, 1928. They farmed for several years, later operated a grocery store in West. After theyr etired from the grocery business, Lillian worked for a fabric shop in West for a number of years and then retired again. Mrs. Macicek was a member fo St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, KJZT Society No. 11 in West, Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and the 50/50 club of St. Mary's. She was preceded in death by her husband John Macicek on August 13, 1995, and by three sisters. Mrs. Macicek is survived by two sisters, Henrietta Sembera of West and Mary Ann Zatopek and husband Lad of Temple, and several nieces and nephews. The family has requested memorials be made to the West Rest Haven or the West Ambulance Association. Kotch Funeral Home, West.
