Edna Caroline Nagel, 94, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at her home in Arneckeville. She was born October 7, 1907, in Arneckeville to the late Christian Krueger and Emilie Schorlemmer Krueger. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Arnecke- ville Home Demonstration Club, Arneckeville Community Club and her Church Circle. She was a 4-H leader for many years. She was a loving wife and mother and an inspirational mentor to her grandchildren. Survivors: daughter, Sandra Machen and husband, Kenneth, of League City, son, Charles Nagel and wife, Jean, of Arneckeville. Son-in-law Fred Benfield of Austin. She is also survived by grandchildren, Scott and Melissa Benfield; Jeff and Kathy Nagel; Greg Nagel; Ann and Jim Pratt; David, Dan and Doug Machen; and Denise and Robert Laffey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edwin Nagel, daughter Kathleen Benfield; Sister, Frieda Sager, brothers, Elmer Krueger, Werner "Tuby" Krueger and Alvin Krueger. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Freund Funeral Home, Cuero. Services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Byrne. Burial Hillside Cemetery, Cuero. Memorials: donor's choice.
