J.D. New, 77, of Hillsboro, died Fe.24, 2001 in Hillsboro.

Services will be at 10 a.m. February 26, 2001 at Marshall & Marshall Chapel with Dr. Allen Lane officiating. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Garden of Memory.

J.D. was born Feb. 17, 1924 in the Coon Creek Community in Bosque County. He was the son of Henry Oline and Georgia (Draper) New. He graduated from Whitney High School. He married Alma Mae Gravitt Oct. 3, 1945 in Waco.

Survivors include his wife, Alma New of Hillsboro; daughter Dana New Kimbrell of Hillsboro; a son Randy New of Fort Worth; brothers, George New of Ft. Worth, Alvin New of Ft. Worth, Fred New, and Jimmy New of Ft. Worth; grandsons, David New of Hillsboro and Jon New of Itasca; and extended family members.
