Man Killed on way here to Mother's Funeral

John Noska Dies Sunday In Car Crash Near Atlanta, Texas

Enroute here to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Josephine Martinak Noska age 73, son John Noska, 41, was killed, and son, Henry Noska, 35, was seriously injured in an automobile accident Sunday near Atlanta, Texas. The Noska brothers, both of Chicago, Illinois, were former residents of this county.

Henry, the driver of the automobile, attempted to close a door which had slipped open. He fell from the car, which turned over into a deep ditch, throwing John through the top and breaking his neck.

The mother died at her home in the Red Hollow Community Sunday, May 14, 1938. Burial under the direction of Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home, was in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery Monday with Father Hanak officiating.

Mrs. Noska was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Noska on September 13, 1935. To this union were born Frances Knesek, John Noska, Frank Noska, Mary Gold, Annie Ondrasek, Anton Noska and Henry Noska. Several children died in infancy. Her siblings were Anna Martinak Walla, Marie Martinak Pivonka, Barbora Martinak Supak Beran, Joseph Martinak, a twin - Franzieka Martinak Janish, Christine Martinak Baros and Johanna Martinak Krenek. Her parents, John and Joanna Brosch Martinak, immigrated to Frelsburg, Texas in 1861.

The son's body was sent to Chicago for burial.
