Houston - Paul J. Noska Sr., 78, of Houston, and formerly of El Campo, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002.

He was born May 16, 1924, in Frelsburg, to the late John and Ida Miller Noska. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as an aviation metalsmith aboard the USS Iowa. He was a carpenter and a Lutheran.

Survivors: sons, Paul Noska Jr. of Sugar Land, Robert Noska and Ronald Noska, both of Houston; sisters, Lilly Baker and Nelda Keenan, both of Victoria; brother, Leo Noska of El Campo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Mildred Barnard Noska; parents; and brothers, Adolph Noska and Pete Noska.

Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wheeler Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. James L. Berggren officiating. Entombment will be at Garden of Memories.
