Anthony "Tony" Joseph Nowaski, 72, of Marlin passed away Monday, February 18, 2002. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Mesias as celebrant. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home (in Marlin). Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Nowaski was born April 26, 1929 in Marlin to Thomas and Anna Michalak Nowaski. He retired in 1975 from the Houston Fire Department after 23 years of service. He also held the rank of Sargeant in the Army, serving in Germany & the Korean Conflict.. He married Clara Warhol November 7, 1953 in Bremond. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin, the DAV, Knights of Columbus and the International Association of Firefighters. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Marion Nowaski. Survivors include his wife, Clara Warhol Nowaski of Marlin; children, Gerry Nowaski, Tim Nowaski, Donna Wilkey and Sam Nowaski, all of Marlin; sisters, Pauline Woycheshin of Houston, Verna Bartkowiak of Tiskilwa, IL and Frances Bartkowiak of Burbank, IL; brother, Joseph Nowaski of Houston; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Josh Nowaski, Randy Lamb, Brian Lamb, and kameron Nowski; and nephews, Mark Bartkowiak, Kenny Bartkowiak, H.R. Bartkowiak and Tommy Nowaski.
