Laverda Kuecker Oehlke, 72, of Victoria, Texas died Tuesday, March 12, 2002.

She was born on January 20, 1930 in Cuero, Texas to Louis August and Anna Buch Kuecker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Victoria. She was a homemaker and maintained ranching interests in Stratton and Weesatche.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kay and Michael Boothe, and her son and daughter-in-law, Harlan Eugene and Lorraine Oehlke, all of Houston; brothers, Ret. First Sgt. Leebell Kuecker, Sterling Kuecker, Charles Kuecker, all of Cuero, Lionel Kuecker of Mission Valley, Farrell Kuecker of Goliad, and Wilbert Kuecker of Thomaston; and her sister, Nelda Jean Haschke of Angleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin H. Oehlke and her parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barney Matocha officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero, under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, Cuero (361) 275-2343.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Trinity Lutheran Church of Victoria, St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Cuero or the donor's choice.
