Wied - Marcella Mary Opela, 71, of Wied, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003.

She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Hallettsville, to the late Willie T. and Agnes Bujnoch Janak. She worked in the dietary department at Lavaca Medical Center and was a member of St. Mary's Church. She was a member of the KJZT.

Survivors: husband, Leo Opela of Wied; sons, Ronald Opela and Donald Opela, both of Wied; sisters, Agatha Janak of Hallettsville and Justina Migl of Sweet Home; brother, Sylvester Janak of Moravia; and three grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Mary's Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the church, the Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Kubena Funeral Home, Hallettsville, 361-798-3271.

Pallbearers: Harvey Langenburg, Russell Sciba, Jimmie Belicek, Eddy Gutierrez, Jerry Pekar and Mark Sevcik.

Honorary Pallbearers: Wayne Janak, Amy Orsak, Keith Orsak, Jill Opela, Jeffrey Matula, Ryan Opela and Robert Scina.
