Funeral services for Ella Albina (Zalmanek) Orsag were held Aug 20 at the New Tabor Brethren Church with the Rev M E Stutts officiating.

She died Aug 16 in Bryan. She was born Sept 14, 1908 in the Providence area of Burleson County, the daughter of Frank and Rosale (Matcek) Zalmanek. She married John Orsag, Jr on Feb 24, 1931 in Caldwell, Tx.

She attended the Providence School. She was baptized on Nov 15, 1908 by the Rev Anton Motycka. She was a member of the New Tabor Brethren Church in Caldwell. They spent 65 years together working the soil, farming and ranching which they both loved. She was an active member of the New Tabor Christian Sisters, choir and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of New Tabor SPJST Lodge 17 and the Burleson County Czech singers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Joe, Frank and Gilbert Zalmanek; sisters, Mary Kristof, Rosa Freeman and Janie Zalmanek.

Survivors include son, John W and wife Betty Orsag of Friendswood; 2 daughters, Emily and husband Bennie Hejl, Joyce and husband Jesse Floeck of Caldwell; sister, Emilie Sefcik of Bryan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed & Vlasta Zalmanek of Houston, James A & Betty Zalmanek of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Annie Louise Zalmanek of Temple and Elsie Orsag of Caldwell; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and one step great-grandcild.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Ronnie Hejl, B J Hejl, Donnie Hejl, Randy Walker, Jesse C Floeck IV, Vincent Mattox, Dirk Howell and Steven Orsag.

Funeral handled by Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
