DEACON DUDLEY M. PAGEL

Deacon Dudley Meryl Pagel, 77, of Victoria, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003.

He was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Schulenburg, to the late Frank and Otylie Psencik Pagel. He was a retired lineman for C.P.L. and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He had been a Deacon at St. Mary's Church since Nov. 19, 1994.

Survivors: wife, Fredline Sandhop Pagel of Victoria; daughters, Faye Culak, Diana Pagel, Joy Loest, Teri Anders, Joni Saski and Jo Walker, all of Victoria and Kelley Griffin of San Antonio; sons, David Pagel of San Antonio and Howard Pagel of Victoria; sisters, Daurace Cawthorne of Canyon Lake, Elizabeth Pugh of San Antonio and Patricia Sumrow of Toronto, Ohio; brother, Frank Pagel of Seguin; 26 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: son, Kenneth Pagel; parents; brother, Nick Page; grandchildren, Gary Jerome Loest and Madison Saski; and great-grandchild, Lauren Janecka.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at St. Mary's Church.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. David E. Fellhauer officiating. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery No. 3.
