Hot Springs, Ark. -- Emil Joseph Papacek Jr., 66, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, April 11, 2001.He was born April 14, 1934, in Moulton, to the late Emil Joseph Sr. and W. Jewell Cone Papacek.

He was employed at Texas Eastern for 41 years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hot Springs, Ark. He attended St. Michael's Catholic School in Cuero and was a 1956 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a volunteer at St. John's Catholic School, the Mid-America Science Museum and at Mount St. Mary Academy.

Survivors: wife, Patricia A. Papacek; daughters, Amy Guresky of Hot Springs, Ark., and Nancy Papacek of Little Rock, Ark.; son, W. Christopher Papacek of Austin; brother, Charles W. Papacek of Cuero; and three grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday at Gross Funeral Home. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel.Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Revs. Msgr. Leo Riedmueller, Msgr. Francis Malone and Lawrence Fredrick officiating.Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
