Jim Parma, 86, dies Tuesday at Nightingale

Funeral Services were held in Shiner at 10 a.m. Thursday for Jim Parma, 86, resident of El Campo for the past eight years.

Mr. Parma, a retired farmer, was born near Shiner April 5, 1891. He died Tuesday, July 12 at Nightingale Hospital.

The funeral was Thursday at Saint Cyril and Methodius Church in Shiner with Reverend Fred Galleger officiating. Internment followed in S.P.J.S.T. Cemetery, Shiner. A rosary was recited at Buffington Funeral Home, Shiner.

Mr. Parma is survived by one son Mark Parma of Corpus Christi, four daughters, Mrs. James (Edith) Rebecek of Wharton, Mrs. Dennis (Evelyn) Zaskoda of El Campo, Mrs. Hilton (Henri Mae) Mertz of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Carl (Lillian) Haas, Sublime, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, who died in El Campo May 19, 1977.

Pallbearers were James Rebecek, Mark Rebecek, Wayne Zaskoda, Alan Haas, Glen Parma and Joe Bruce Hancock.
