Mr. Wesley "Basco" W. Patak, 71, died Saturday, June 29, at his home in Ennis.

He was born February 7, 1931 in Ennis, the son of Joe A. and Mary C. Nekuza Patak. He was reared in Ennis where he attended St. John High School. In 1947 he was employed by Leggett & Platt.

On July 27, 1955 he was married to Josephine Macalik. After their marriage they live in Ennis. In 1993 he retired as supervisor of the Ennis plant of Leggett * Platt. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the KJT, SPJST and a 50-year member of the KJZT.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine, of Ennis; 3 sons and their wives, Danny and Eva Patak of Ennis, Johnnie and Suzi Patak of Amarillo, David and Gayle Patak of Ennis; a daughter and her husband, Margie and Rick Hrncir of Palmer; 2 brothers, Joe S. Patak and Edwin G. Patak both of Ennis, a sister, Evelyn Patak of Ennis; and 6 grandchildren, Tine, Katie, Ashley, Hailey, Hillary and Wesley.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Ann Machelle Trojacek, on August 10, 1979.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Catholic Church with Father Ernie Villaroya as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
