The Victoria Advocate 1/8/1921 - 1/6/1999 He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Shiner, to the late Jim and Albina Husinecky Patek. He was a fire fighter for Civil Service. He was a Catholic and was a member of American Legion of Seguin, KJT. Survivors: wife, Evelyn M. Berger Patek; daughters, Evelyn M. Alexander of San Antonio, Helen M. Skinner of Spring and Gladys M. Skinner of Conroe; sons, Bill J. Patek of Seguin and Roy W. Patek of Spring; sisters, Mary Mikes, Albina Kubenka and Lillian Swisher, all of Seguin and Emily Holub of Houston; brothers, Charles Patek and Jimmy Patek, both of Shiner and Louis Patek and Benny Patek, both of Houston; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: daughter, Bernice Laverne Patek; sons, Franky D. Patek and Ervin Ray Patek; sister, Lillian Janda; and brother, Joe Patek. A rosary/wake will be 7:30 p.m. today at Buffington Funeral Home chapel and a KJT rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
