Hillje -- Annie Agnes Pavlas, 86, of Hillje and formerly of Wharton, died Friday, March 17, 2000.

She was born Oct. 14, 1913, in DeWitt County, to the late August and Anna Micola Chilek. She graduated from the Caney Valley Hospital nursing program in 1937, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton, a member of the Catholic Daughters and the KJZT.

Survivors: daughters, Sylvia Yackel of Gonzales, Mary Ann Kubes and Helen Heimann, both of East Bernard and Therese Roades of Wharton; son, Julius Pavlas of Wharton; sister, Mary Matcek of Wharton; brothers, Adolph Chilek of Boling and John Chilek of Burr; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Edward Pavlas; one sister; two brothers and one grandson.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Wharton Funeral Home.

A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton.

Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Home, (979) 532-3410.

Memorials: Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton or St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford.
