Houston Chronicle 15 Sep 1989 Jerome John "Jerry" Pavlicek, 73, of Cypress, Texas for 18 years passed away Wednesday September 13, 1989. Mr. Pavlicek previously resided in Houston and was born in Eagle, Texas on January 9, 1916, the son of John and Agnes Pavlicek. He retired after 33 years as a self-employed candy vendor and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He served in the 141st Infantry, 36th Division "T" Patch Service Co., U.S. Army, World War II, also member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge 88. Mr. Pavlicek is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bessie L. Kostelnik Pavlicek, daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and Billy Joe Stepan, grandson, Kenny Sillavan and wife Sandy, Brent and Derrick Stepan, great-grandchildren, Jake Dalton and Jessy Ann Sillivan and brother Pete Pavlicek. Mr. Pavlicek was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edmund, Adolph, James and Eugene Pavlicek, and sisters, Ermina Smith and Emma Mendel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 1989, at St. John Lutheran Church, 15235 Spring Cypress, Cypress, Texas. Rev. Alvin Musgrove and Rev. John P. Kah will be officiating with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kenny Sillavan, Brent Stepan, Derrick Stepan, Alfred Pavlicek, Mike Pavlicek, Eugene Pavlicek, Jr., Larry Pavlicek, John Mendel and Fred Mendel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 141st Infantry, 36th Division "T" Patch Service Co. In lieu of usual remembrances memorials may be made to Altar Guild of St. John Lutheran Church.
