Houston Chronicle 19 Aug 1981 Dr. Louis G. Pawelek, Private interment services at Forest Park Lawndale with The Reverend Peter Mosteller officiating, were held Monday, August 17, 1981 for the immediate family of Dr. Louis G. Pawelek, who passed away Saturday, August 15, 1981 in a local hospital. Dr. Pawelek was born in Crestohowa, Texas, Karnes County, August 15, 1895. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1917. As a Lieutenant in World War I, he was the youngest officer in the medical unit in France, evacuating the American wounded home. Dr. Pawelek came to Houston in 1921, practicing medicine here for 42 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and American Medical Society. He was a member of Saint Anne's Catholic Church. Survived by: Wife, Mary Beth Pawelek; brothers, Dr. I. L. Pawelek, Houston, Dr. Anthony Pawelek, Fulshear, Texas and C. B. Pawelek of Falls City, Texas; sister, Mrs. A. D. Clarke, San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Dr. Claude Pawelek, Rick Pawelek, Michael Pawelek, Tony Pawelek, Bill Tarver, and Tom Prentis; nephews.
