Midland - Bernice Pechacek, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in a Midland hospital.

She was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Gonzales County and had lived in Midland since 1979.

Survivors include a sister, Dee Yuncker of Midland; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
