Walton John Charles Pfeil Dies

Walton John Charles Pfeil of Floresville passed away at 8:43 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 1983 in the Floresville Memorial Hospital. He was 66 years, 7 months and 17 days of age.

The body lay in state at the Vinyard Funeral Home, Floresville, after 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 in the First Lutheran Church of Floresville. Reverend Herman H. Dannhaus of San Antonio and Reverend S.T. Schroeder of Poth co-officiated at the services.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kent Pfeil, Paul Pfeil, Jeffery Waclawczyk, Leroy Schnautz, Mark Kutac, Frank B. Nicholson and Ray Lester.

Mr. Pfeil was born Dec. 17, 1916 in Floresville, son of John and Rosalinda (Schroeder) Pfeil, natives respectively of Shiner, Lavaca County and Shelby Austin County, Texas.

He attended Floresville schools and graduated from Floresville High School in 1936.

On May 9, 1937 in the First Lutheran Church of Floresville he was married to Miss Marguerite Newbauer by the Reverend Theodore Winter.

He lived and worked all of his life in Floresville except from 1952 to 1959 when he worked in Jourdanton for Alamo Lumber Company. He retired from Alamo Lumber Company in Floresville in the late 1970's.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a past member of the First Lutheran Church Brotherhood.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Pfeil of Floresville; a son Carl Edward Pfeil of Floresville; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Robert (Laura Lee) Pavliska of Floresville, two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Esther) Winter of Austin, Mrs. W.D. (Edna) Rehfeld of Floresville; one brother, John Wallis Pfeil of Floresville and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jan. 20, 1971; his father, Mar. 16, 1976.
