Wharton Journal-Spectator 8 Jan 2003 Caroline Slovak Sablatura, age 93, of Hungerford, died Jan. 6, 2003, in Lake Jackson Health Care Center. She was born on Oct. 10, 1909, in East Bernard, the daughter of the late John and Aloiza Slovak. Mrs. Sablatura was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford and a member of the S.P.J.S.T. for 56 years. She married Frank Sablatura on July 3, 1934, in Wharton County and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank Sablatura Jr. and wife, Dorothy; grandson, Scott Sablatura; brother, John Slovak and wife, Annie; sister, Ottilea Zahradnik and husband, Edd and sister, Mary Brenk. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Henry Rachunek officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Rosary services were held Tuesday evening at Wharton Funeral Home. Survivors include her sons, Ed Sablatura and wife, Lillian, of Lake Jackson and Henry Sablatura and wife, Sandy, of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Loretta Meyer, Mary Jones, Teresa Schilhab, Ed Sablatura Jr., Sandy Zachary, Sue McCormick, Stan Sablatura, Vicky Raymond, Becky Sablatura, Bradley Sablatura, their spouses and numerous great-grandchildren.
