Mass of the Christian burial for Daniel A. Salik was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Ernie Villaroya as celebrant.

Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. John Church. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary with the following serving as pallbearers: Steven Salik, Jeff Salik, Charles Gibbons, Mark Smith, John Bonsal and Jeff Carroll.

Mr. Salik, 60, died Sunday, March 10, at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas.

He was born Nov. 26, 1941 in Ennis, the son of Frank and Mary Marusak Salik. He was reared in Ennis and was a 1960 graduate of St. John High School.

On July 28, 1962 he was married to Clara Kuban of Ennis. After their marriage they lived in Ennis. He began his employment as an auto technician with Economy Cars of Dallas. He worked for several dealerships in Dallas and ended his career with Sewell Lexus as a senior auto technician.

He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Texas Steel Guitar Assoc. He was the secretary-treasurer of Catholic Workman #111 for over 30 years and was also the past vice-president at the state level.

His interests were family, musical instruments and fixing anything that needed fixing.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, of Ennis; two sons, Steven Salik of Dallas and Jeff Salik of Mesquite; a daughter and her husband, Paula and Charles Gibbons of Hurst; a brother and his wife, Jerry and Cecilia Salik of Ennis; two grandchildren, Anna and Ryan.
