Oct. 30, 1998 Abstract of obit Walter Thomas Schimara, 78, of New Ulm died Oct 15 at his residence. Funeral services will be Oct. 30 at the Nelsonville Brethren Church. The Rev. Michael Grosclose will officiate and burial will follow in the National Cemetery. Born Dec. 29, 1919 in Nelsonville, he was the son of Willie and Francis (Susen) Schimar. He married Evelyn Gebhard Oct. 15, 1943 in Nelsonville. He was a member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Svrcek of Tomball; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Darlene Schimara of Industry; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Olita Schimara of Queens Creek, AZ and Grank and Mary Ann Lesikar of Tomball; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Estelle Gebhard of Temple; three grandchildren, Tricia Frenza and her husband Gary of Houston, Kristi Schimara of Austin and Jaime Shcimara of Bryan; and one great-grandchild, Mallory Frenza of Houston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Calvin; and his parents. Koenig-Peel & Strickland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Walter Thomas Schimara are scheduled for Oct. 30, 1998 from the Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating and interment in the National Cemetery. Mr. Schimara passed away Oct. 26. Born in Nelsonville Dec. 29, 1919, he was the son of Willie and Francis (Susen) Schimara. He married the former Evelyn Gebhard on Oct. 16, 1943. He was a member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Svrcek and her husband David of Tomball; one son, James Schimara and his wife Darlene of Industry; brothers, Eddie Schimara and his wife Olita of Queens Creek, AZ and Frank Lesikar and his wife Mary Ann of Tomball; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Estelle Gebhard of Temple; three grandchildren, Tricia Frenza and husband Gary of Houston, Kristi Schimara of Austin and Jaime Schimara of Bryan; one great-grandchild, Mallory Fenza of Houston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Calvin; and his parents. Koenig-Peel & Strickland Funeral Home of LaGrange and Zaskoda Chapel of Industry are in charge of funeral arrangements.
