Eden -- Theresa Schkade, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in Meadow Creek Nursing Center in San Angelo.

Theresa was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Eola to John and Carrie Mikeska.

She married William (Bill) Schkade on Dec. 8, 1938. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1975. She was a stock farmer and worked for Day Loveless Butane. She was also a member of the Eola Water Co-op Board for 11 years and Christ Lutheran Church in San Angelo.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughter, Vonell Huitt, and several nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Eden Funeral Home. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, in Eden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Elmquest officiating. Burial will be in Eola Cemetery in Eola.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Torres Jr. and Benny Tonne, both of Eola, Jay Whittley of San Angelo, Craig Whittley of Granger, Gary Mikeska of Dallas and Billy Charles Mikeska of Kerrville.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the community, Dr. Chang and staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Center.
