George F. Schmidt Jr., 77, of Victoria, and formerly of Yorktown, died Sunday, June 29, 2003.

He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Yorktown, to the late George F. Sr. and Mary Meyer Schmidt. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a retired construction worker and a member of First English Lutheran Church in Victoria.

Survivors: sister, Myrtle Janssen of Yorktown.

Preceded in death by: parents.

Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home chapel in Yorktown.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Bill Hassell officiating.

Burial will be at Nordheim Cemetery. Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home, Yorktown, 361-564-2277.
