We are here this afternoon to pay our tributes to the beloved Mrs.
Minna, nee Rettig, Schoen, who passed from this world to the next, Tuesday,
January 29, 1957 at 5:30 in the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Schoen. She knew not suffering and pain.
Mrs. Schoen was born February 18, 1879 in Berlin - Staaken. She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Church of Germany. It was there that she met and married Herman Schoen and lived until December of 1923 when, with the help of her cousins, the Fred Koehns and the Willie Klesels, they arrived in Texas and settled in Weimar. Herman and Minna Schoen were blessed with three children: Mrs. Helene Stech, Mr. Alfred Schoen, and Fritz Schoen who died at the age of 6 months. The family lost their husband and father in July of 1945 when Mr. Herman Schoen passed away. However, happiness filled Grandmother Schoen as she saw life around her grow. Her five grandchildren: Gilbert and Diane Stech; Glen, Rosalie and Larry Schoen; and her three great-grandchildren: Linda Lou, Jane Faye and Clyde Stech. Mrs. Schoen shared her life with us for 77 years, 11 months and 11 days, making a lasting impression to all those around her. Along with her loved ones, she is survived by a host of friends. Rev.
