Conrad Joseph Schoppe, age 73, died Sunday, August 27, 1995.

A longtime Houstonian, he was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Sierra Club of Southwest Houston. He was a graduate of the University of Houston. He retired in 1983 after 37 years with Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. as Head of the Metallurgical Division. He was a past chairman of the American Society of Metals, and was a member of many other professional societies.

Preceded in death by his brother, Rev. C. Laumer Schoppe; sisters, Helen Fabre and Mildred O'Rourke.

Survived by his wife, Ellen Condon Schoppe, Daughters, Mrs. Patricia Wiele of Los Galos, California, Mrs. Lorene Perry of Coral Springs, Florida, Mrs. Charlotte Knepp of Austin, Texas, Ms. Janice Herrmann of Houston, Texas; sons, (Lt. Col.) Gerald Schoppe of Austin, Texas and Michael Schoppe of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Keith, Michael and Ryan Giordano, Todd Wiele; Michael, Jennifer and Gregory Schoppe; Amelia and Gregory Perry; and Sean and Michelle Knepp. Also a sister, Beatrice Schoppe; brothers Francis Schoppe and Rev. Msgr. Charles Schoppe of Houston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 1995 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hilcroft. Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 1995 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Reverend William Young celebrant. Burial at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway.

In lieu of usual rememberances, memorials may be made to St. Thomas More Building Fund, 10330 Hilcroft, Houston, Texas 77096, or St. Michael's Acadamey, 3000 Barton Creek Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78735.
