New Ulm Enterprise Dec 2, 1999 Abstract of Obituary Funeral services for Annie (Surovik) Schovajsa, 91, of Bleiberville were held Nov 27 at Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial followed at National Cemetery near Nelsonville. She died Nov 23 in Bellville. She was born Feb 14, 1908 in New Bremen, the daughter of Frank and Louise (Janacek) Surovik. She married Willie D Schovajsa on Nov 4, 1930 in Nelsonville Brethren Church. Annie was raised in Nelsonville and attended the Nelsonville and Santa Anna Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church, the Christian Sisters of the Church, SPJST Lodge 201 and worked all her life as a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Joe, John, Willie and Frank Liska; sisters, Albina Bartay and Louisa Krause. Survivors include her son, Billie Schovajsa & Danita of Bleiberville; grandchildren, Candy & husband Tim Janish of Bellville, Tara Schovajsa and Ginny Schovajsa, both of Bleiberville; and great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jacob, Brandon and Ross Janish. Pallbearers were Bruce Gaskamp, Jeffrey Hoff, Raymond Schovajsa, James Waltrip, Delbin Syptak, and Herbert Schovajsa. Funeral handled by Knesek Family Funeral Chapels of Bellville.
