Shiner Gazette 29 May 1969 The Rev. M. Newman, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and the Rev. William Clements of the Baptist Church, Flatonia, officiated at the final rites with burial taking place in the Flatonia City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Grieve, O. E. Gray, Arnold Wiedeman, Marvin Finger, Dr. J. B. Cook and W. W. Mueller. Mrs. Thulemeyer, nee Lela McCalap, was born September 30, 1897, at Wrightsboro, the daughter of J. M. and Judith (Bradley) McCalap, natives of the state of Mississippi and Wrightsboro respectively. She was very active as a nurse from 1917-1937 in Gonzales and DeWitt counties. She was married to Fred W. Thulemeyer December 30, 1936 in Gonzales in Gonzales. They moved to Flatonia in 1938 where Mrs. Thulemeyer actively assisted her husband in the operation of Thulemeyer's Jewelry Store. She was a member of Flatonia Methodist Church, past worthy matron of Flatonia Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. T. L. (Martha) Biddle, Mrs. G. B. (Nona) Olsen, both of Flatonia; and Mrs. E. O. (Ellen) Williams of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died May 8, 1960;
her parents; and a brother, Milburn McCallap of Wrightsboro. Posted by Matt Cross
