Melvin Treptow Funeral Services Held

Hallettsville – Melvin E. Treptow of Corpus Christi, formerly of Lavaca County, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1988 at his home. He reached the age of 69 years, 9 months and 28 days.

He was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Lavaca County, son of the late Emil and Anna (Buske) Treptow. He was a veteran of World War II.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hallettsville with the Rev. Herb Beyer officiating.

Burial followed in Old Kinkler Cemetery under the direction of Kubena Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Bertha Waltersdorf Treptow of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Gustavus of Houston; a son, James Fox of Aurora, Mo.; three brothers, Emil, Helmuth and Bill Treptow, all of Hallettsville; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jan. 8, 1940; his mother, Jan. 30, 1964; two brothers, J. Treptow and Marvin Treptow.
