May 12, 1998 Abstract of Obituary. Funeral services for Elfis Sophie Treybig, 88 were held May 9 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Florida Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Weber officiated. Mrs. Treybig died May 7 in LaGrange. Born Nov. 8, 1909 in Willow Springs in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Fritz and Emma (Cordes) Meinen. She married Henry Treybig on Dec. 9, 1925 in Willow Springs. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice Vaclavik of LaGrange, Emily and Frank Kana Jr. of Houston, Maxine Cordes of Houston and Joan and Leon Heinstchel Jr. of Fayetteville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Marilyn Treybig and Lee H. Treybig, all of Houston, and Kermit and Jeanette Treybig and Lee H. Treybig, all of Houston, and Kermit and Jeanette Treybig of Schulenburg; one son-in-law, Ludwig Sulak of Plum; 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Treybig; two daughters, Lucille Treybig and Gladys Sulak; one son, LeVern Treybig; one great-grandson, Adam Michale Fishcher; and two sons-in-law, Johnny Vaclavik and A.C. Cordes. Koenig-Peel & Strickland Funeral Home of LaGrange were in charge of arrangements.
