Abstract of Obituary

 
Jerry Tupa, 65 of Dallas and brother of Angie Winkler, of La Grange, died Nov 11 in Ennis Regional Medical Center.

One memorial service was held Weds at 2 pm in the Keever chapel of J E Keever Mortuary and the second is set for Fri, Nov 17 at 2 pm at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia.

He was born in Halletsville on Mar 1, 1935, the son of Joseph and Jamie Tupa. He was raised in Moravia where he graduated from high school. He was then employed for a short time before entering the US Army. After his discharge, he was employed as a truck driver in California and was employed in this capacity for many years.

He married Nanvy Glubezynski of California and moved to Houston in !975, to Idaho some years later and in 1984 settled in the Dallas area. In 1996, they moved to the Ferris area where he was director of maintenance for Stevens Transport for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Ennis.

Survivors include his wife Nancy fo Ferris; 3 sons, Michael Tupa of Bartlesville, Ok, Pete and Debbie Tupa of Katy and Jimmy Tupa and son Colton of Ferris; 3 daughters, Pamela Tupa of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jodie and Paul Triece of Ferris, Trudi and Roger Justice of Albuquerque, NM; brother Henry Tupa and his wife Emma of Houston, 4 sisters, Judith Ohnheiser of Halletsville, Angie Winkler and husband Robert of La Grange, Sylvia Steffek and husband Jimmie of Halletsville and Wilma Schaefer and husband Richard of Flatonia, and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jamie (Orsak) Tupa. J E Keever Mortuary of Ennis was in charge of arrangements.
