Howard J. Turk, 91, departed this earthly life on Feb. 23, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Paul Carter, Everett Rayburn and Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Mr. Turk was born on May 19, 1910 in Abbott to Winifred and Joseph Turk. He was a civil service employee at james Connally Air Base for many years. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and member of the Polled Hereford Association. He served on the school board of LaVega Independent School District and has served as a Deacon in the Baptist Church. He was a current member of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Estelle Cox Turk of Waco; daighters, Lois Clay & husband Richard of Victoria and Martha Cloud and husband Robert of Woodway; sons, Robert B. Turk and wife Kathy of Montevallo, Ala., Clarence E. Davis and wife Sherri of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael Turk and wife Amy, Jeffrey Turk, M.D. and wife Paige, M.D., Rev. Paul Carter and wife Kelly, Alan Carter and wife Belinda, Robert E. Cloud and wife Laura, Gregory Cloud, Amy Hobart and husband Robert, Terisa Davis, Traci Piazza and husband James; great grandchildren, Wesley Carter, Whitney Carter, Wrandi Carter, Matthew CArter, Megan Carter, Grace Cloud and Davis Piazza; and a niece, Mabel Oswald of Waco.

Pallbearers will be Robert C. Turk, Richard Clay, Michael Turk, Jeffrey Turk, Paul Carter, Alan Carter, Robert E. Cloud, Gregory Cloud, Robert E. Hobart and James Piazza.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Program of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church.
