Ben and Margaret Tydlacka, 87 and 84, respectively, died one day apart. Ben died on March 26 [2002] and his wife, Margaret died the next day. A funeral service for the Tydlackas was held Monday, April 1 [2002] at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Interment was held in the West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Ben Tydlacka died March 26, [2002] in Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Born May 21, 1914 in Fayetteville, he was the son of Henry and Frances (Topolanek) Tydlacka. He was married to Margaret C. Tydlacka for 63 years. He was a long time resident of Rosenberg and served in the Army Air Corp prior to the war and served in the U.S.Air Force during World War II. He retired from Imperial Sugar Company after 36 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, K.J.T., S.P.J.S.T., AARP, and Holy Rosary Parish in Rosenberg.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Blackburn and husband Wayne; son, Michael Tydlacka and wife Mary Jane; grandchildren, John Blackburn and wife Kim, Kathy Childs and husband Damian, David Blackburn and fiancé Jacki; Jonathan, Nicholas, and Thomas Tydlacka; great-grandchildren, Kaylene and Bailey Childs, Krystal Blackburn; brother, Adolf Tydlacka and wife Ora; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Robert Schumann; cousin, the Rev. Msgr. George Tydlacka; nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Barbara; brothers, Joseph Tydlacka, Eddie Seitz; sister, Lillie Kovar Fullerson; and cousin, the Rev. Msgr. Jeromoe Tydlacka.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Carl Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Tx. 79174-0001 or the Holy Rosary Building fund - "Vision 2011."

Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapels and Cemeteries of Rosenberg was in charge of arrangements.
