Pallbearers were Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright, Officer Carl Tullos, Constable Lonnie Hinze, Captain Ken Lee, Sheriff Curly Wied and Redd Seydler. He was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Weimar, and he passed away Sept. 24, 2002 at home. He served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1952 in the Korean War. He was a tech. sergeant with the military, served as Rosenberg's chief of police, was a member of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department for 25 years and a member of the Colorado County Sheriff's Department. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5875. He retired from law enforcement after a 42-year career. He lived in Weimar for the past 12 years and also lived in Columbus, Rosenberg, Richmond and Simonton. He is survived by Elizabeth Boettcher of Weimar; his sons, Charles H. Ulbrich Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Rosenberg, Michael Wayne Ulbrich and his wife, Phyllis, of El Paso and Joseph Henry Ulbrich of Weimar; his daughters, Deborah Jean Meredith and her husband, Eric, of Weimar and Mary Jane Hewitt and her husband, Michael, of Rosenberg; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha Ulbrich and a brother, George Ulbrich. The family wishes to thank the Fort Bend County motorcycle
