Frank was born in Aquilla, Hill County, Texas to Peter K. and Klara Svach Urban on April 25, 1916. He married Marian Anderson in Haskell, Texas on December 16, 1939.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marian Urban; a son, Donald Frank Urban and his wife Ilean of Carrizo Springs, Texas, daughter Paula Sue and husband E.T. Hodges of Central Point, Oregon; sister Ann Urban Sommerfeld of Clifton, Texas; brother Charlie Urban of Azle, Texas; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
