James Bruning Urban, 71, of Victoria, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002.

He was born in Victoria to the late Otto L. and Charlotte K. Bruning Urban. He was the founder of Urban' s Grocery and Market on Water Street, the Windmill Country Store, and the Raisin Windmill Store. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and the church finance committee.

Survivors: wife, Mary Lou Rothlisberger Urban, daughters, Cindy Bittlebrun and Juli Klinkerman, both of Victoria; son, Dr. Randall Urban of Friendswood; sister, Dorothy Imig of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: brother, Otto L. Urban, Jr.; grandchild, Leigh Marie Urban; and parents.

Family visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 361-578-3535.
