P. Urban Rites


Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6 from the St. James Catholic Church in Gonzales for Paul P. Urban with the Rev. Michael Boulette officiating. Burial was in the Gonzales City Cemetery.

A rosary service was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Buffington Chapel, Gonzales.

Pallbearers were Anton Zavadil, Alton Kiefer, Johnny Schwarz, David Krejci, Lee Shelton and H.R. Wilson.

He died in Memorial Hospital, Gonzales at 12 noon Saturday, Aug. 4, 1979 at the age of 75 years and 3 days.

Mr. Urban was born in Gonzales County, August 1, 1904, the son of George and Annie (Orsak) Urban, both of Czechoslovakia.

A farmer and rancher, he was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Carrie) Cooley of Seguin, Mrs. Julie Kiefer of Shiner, and Mrs. Sanford (Tracy) Kiefer of Gonzales.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Paul Urban, Dec. 9, 1970 and Edward Urban, Aug. 15, 1972.
