HATTIE (ZIMMERHANZEL) ZAJICEK

Hattie Agnes Zajicek, age 83, was born on October 13, 1919 in Buckholts, Texas to the late Jim Zimmerhanzel and Agnes Baros Zimmerhanzel.

She was a longtime quilter in Victoria where her beautiful work was much sought after at the various church fund raisers she donated to. She was a former member of the Altar Society at St. Mary's and was also a volunteer at the Victoria Regional Hospital, and also DeTar Hospital.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Sue Cotton of Victoria; longtime friends, John Cruz of Victoria and Faye Morgan of Edna; step-daughters, Alice Staff of Ganado and Rita Pargmann of Yoakum; step-son, Carl Zajicek of Ganado; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

Preceded in death by husbands, W.T. Cotton and Willie Zajicek; step-daughter, Joan Beard; sisters, Anita Ziegelbauer and Henrietta Corcoran; and brother, Jim Zimmerhanzel, Jr.

A rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home on Red River.

A mass will be held at Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Msgr. James C. Brunner officiating.

Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Texas.

Memorial donations: American Cancer Society.
