Funeral services for Glen Zapalac, 79, of Fayetteville were held March 28 at Sergeant Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Burial was in the La Grange City Cemetery. Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz officiated.

Mr. Zapalac died March 25 in Temple. Born Feb. 7, 1919, he was the son of Henry J. and Hermina (Loeve) Zapalac. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in LaGrange.

He is survived by his two nephews, Gary Eckel of Goliad County and Johnny Zapalac of LaGrange; and three nieces, Margie Eckel Rose of Cuero, Lestell Villanueva of Houston and Leah Tietjen of Rutersville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry E. and Lester "Buddy" Zapalac; and three sisters, Valeria Zapalac, Minnie Taylor and Zeda Eckel.

Sergeant Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
