Ganado -- Julia Zapalac, 97, of Ganado, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001.

She was born April 17, 1904, in Hallettsville, to the late Frank and Anna Janak Konvicka. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors: daughters, Annie M. Chanek of Ganado and Julia Moore of Edna; son, George Zapalac of Port Lavaca; sister, Georgie Henke of Hallettsville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: husband, Frank Zapalac; son, Johnny Zapalac; parents; sister, Annie Stacha; and brother, Frank Konvicka Jr.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Slavik Funeral Home chapel.Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna, the Rev. Michael O'Shaughnessy officiating.Burial will be at Memory Gardens of Edna. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.
