Last rites for Bernard F. Zatopek, 70, of Houston were held March 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elliger. Burial was in the church Cemetery. Msgr. Ben Mazurkiewicz officiated.

Mr. Zatopek died on March 24 in Houston. He was born Dec. 15, 1927 in Ellinger the son of the late Frank and Henrietta (Krenek) Zatopek. He married Laurine Julie Krenek on Oct. 15, 1951. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bellaire.

Survivors include his wife, Laurine Julie Zatopek of Houston; two sons and daughter-in-law, Larry Bernard Zatopek of Rosenberg and Dennis Roy and Donna Zatopek of Richmond; three grandchildren, Larry H. Zaatopek, Allen G. Zatopek and Bryan L. Zatopek; one sister, Adline Svatek of El Campo; and two brothers, Eddie Zatopek of Ellinger and Adolph Zatopek of Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Henrietta Zatopek and a brother, Alfred Zatopek.

Henneke Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of final arrangements.
