Funeral services for Laurine Krenek Zatopek, 69, of Rosenberg are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger. Father Jack Maddux will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Henneke Funeral Home, 1515 Montezuma St. in Columbus, and at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation will be held until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Ms. Zatopek was born Oct. 13, 1932 to Frets and Julie Matus Krenek in Columbus, and she passed away Aug. 13, 2002 at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Sugar Land. She married Bernard F. Zatopek Oct. 15, 1951 and remained married to him until his death in March of 1998. She lived in Houston for 41 years and in Rosenberg for four years where she spent her days as a homemaker. Mrs. Zatopek was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard F. Zatopek and her parents, Fritz and Julie Matus Krenek.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Zatopek of Rosenberg and Dennis Zatopek and his wife, Donna of Richmond; her brother, Leonard Zatopek of Bryan; her grandchildren, Heath Zatopek and his wife, Carissa and Allen and Bryan Zatopek.
