Houston Chronicle 8/30/2002 He was born to Edward and Elsie (Kruppa) Zimmerhanzel on August 29, 1936 in Muldoon, Tx. John married Mary Ann Svetkovich on June 5, 1965 in Greensberg, PA. Mr. Zimmerhanzel was an engineer and worked for a pipe and oil company. He belonged to various clubs which included the Knights of Columbus, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Pipeliners Club. He was also a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Zimmerhanzel of Kerrville: mother Elsie Zimmerhanzel of Smithville; daughter Melissa Stroud of Pflugerville; son, Mark Zimmerhanzel of Abilene; sister, Mary Ann Kallus of La Grange; brother, Ebwin Zimmerhanzel of Smithville; four grandchildren, Eric and David Zimmerhanzel and Mathew and John Caden Stroud. A rosary will be recited Friday, August 30, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Services will be held, Saturday, August 31, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Michael Boulette officiating. Private interment will follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Memorials may be made to Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main
