Taylor Daily Press Taylor, Texas March 27, 2002 Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. March 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating, burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Zimmerhanzel was born March 21, 1920 the only child of Joe and Mary (Zezulka) Kupka. On August 12, 1940 she married Joe Zimmerhanzel in Granger, Texas. To this union, three children were born, Dolores, Jimmy & Joan. In 1942, Joe & Elsie purchased the Circleville Store and ran it until 1971, when they sold it to Jimmy and Betty. Elsie contiued to work at the store until she retired at age 79 1/2 years. She loved to play "42" and belonged to several clubs, some for at least 50 years. She was active in the Catholic Daughters of America having served as past grand regent, St. Anne's Altar Society & secretary of the Hermann Sons Lodge. She was a fun-loving person and never met a stranger. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, and son-in-law, Ernest Voigt. Survivors: daughters, Dolores Eckles of Houston, Joan McNabb & husband Richard of Taylor, daughter-in-law, Betty Zimmerhanzel of Circleville, five grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Also, sisters-in-laws Alma, Angel, Beatrice, Janelle Zimmerhanzel
all of Taylor, Mary Solansky of Crystal City, Agnes Cook & husband
Herbert of Austin, Edna Spears of Bartlett, Joe Ann Jackson &
husband, Claude of Granger, a brother-in-law Bill Zimmerhanzel &
wife Sue, of Smithville, and numerous nieces, nephew & faithful
