Walter Erwin Zoch, 87, died Sun Aug 20 at his residence. Funeral services were held Aug 23 at 11 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev Thomas Hoyt officiated.

Born Feb 27, 1913 in Warda, he was the son of Gerhard and Emma (Kubitz) Zoch. He married Alwine Hobratschk Oct 3, 1927 in Warda.. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alwine Zoch of Warda, one daughter, Frances Weishuhn of Alexandria, La; one brother, Martin Zoch of Smithville; one sister, Elsie Mertink of Serbin; two grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Sergeant Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
